Samsung brought the 6GB RAM/128GB storage version of its premium Galaxy S8+ for the Indian consumers in June this year. The company last month slashed the price of the premium flagship (6GB RAM model) by Rs. 4,000, and the phone has now received yet another price cut of Rs. 5,000 in the country.

The Samsung Galaxy S8+ 6GB RAM variant was launched for a price of Rs. 74,900, after the first price cut it was available for Rs. 70,900 and with the new price slash the smartphone can now be availed for a price of Rs. 65,900. The 6GB RAM model of the premium flagship can now be purchased via online retailer Flipkart, Samsung store and through offline retail stores as well. However, the phone was seen listed as out of stock on Flipkart at the time of writing this article.

To recap, Samsung’s high-end Galaxy S8 flagship smartphones were officially introduced on March 29 this year. The handsets made its way to India on April 19 for a price starting at Rs. 57,900. The Galaxy S8 series in India comes packed with Samsung’s in-house Exynos 8895 octa-core chip fabricated on 10nm FinFET technology.

The bigger variant, Galaxy S8+ (Review) features a 6.2-inch QHD+ (1440×2560 resolution) Super AMOLED Infinity display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone sports a 12-megapixel ‘Dual Pixel’ rear sensor with LED flash with OIS and f/1.7 aperture. The front accommodates an 8-megapixel autofocus camera with f/1.7 aperture and 80-degree wide-angle lens. The Galaxy S8+ packs a 3500mAh battery and runs Android 7.0 Nougat. The phone also has IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. The 6GB RAM/128GB storage model is available only in one colour scheme-Midnight Black, while the 4GB RAM/64GB storage version of the Galaxy S8+ offers four colour options- Orchid Grey, Maple Gold, Coral Blue and Midnight Black.

Notably, Samsung this week announced another premium flagship for the year, the Galaxy Note 8 that offers premium look and is constructed out of the materials same as the Galaxy S8+. The phone features a large 6.3-inch Infinity display and comes with the signature Note S-Pen. The official price for this high-end smartphone has not been announced yet, however, in a few US mobile carriers it is listed at a starting price of $930 which is around Rs. 60,000 after conversion. The Galaxy Note 8 global release is scheduled for September 15. The company has not shared any detail regarding the launch of its premium flagship phablet in India. But if you take the Galaxy S8 series India launch, which took place two days (April 19) ahead of Galaxy S8 global release (April 21), we might see the Galaxy Note 8 launch next month if Samsung follows the similar launch cycle.
