Samsung’s premium smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is now available for pre-order on the e-retail site Amazon India. Users who wish to purchase the handset can register on the online retail portal.

The Galaxy Note 8 pre-order will be open till September 21 and Amazon notes that the units will be released on September 22. The e-commerce site has listed a few offers on the new Samsung flagship device. Galaxy Note 8 purchasers will get a one-time screen replacement for a price Rs. 990. HDFC credit card holders can get cashback of up to Rs. 4000. To sweeten the deal, Amazon will offer free wireless charger on the purchase Note 8. It is worth mentioning that free wireless charger can be availed by prospective buyers who pre-order for the smartphone. Reliance Jio subscribers can get an up to 448GB additional 4G data for a period of 8 months.

To remind, the Galaxy Note 8 was officially introduced last month in New York. The handset was launched in India at a premium price Rs. 67,900 and it is available in two colour options- Midnight Black and Maple Gold. The highlight of the Note 8 is its dual rear camera that comes with dual OIS (optical image stabilisation). Specifications wise, the Note 8 features a 6.3-inch QHD+ (1440×2960 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 521ppi. It is powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 8895 SoC (system-on-chip) paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB native storage. The storage on the device can be further expanded via microSD card. The phone runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box.

As for imaging, the Note 8’s dual rear camera setup comes with a 12-megapixel wide angle lens with dual pixel AF and f/1.7 aperture, and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with autofocus and a f/2.4 aperture. As mentioned, the rear cameras also come with dual optical image stabilisation. The camera offers a Live Focus mode that lets you to adjust the bokeh effect. At the front, it has an 8MP camera with smartfocus. The front camera is capable of recording 4K videos natively. The phone has a battery backup of 3000mAh. The dual-SIM Note 8 supports wireless charging.

In terms of design, the phone iterates a similar design language to the premium Galaxy S8 series with bezels removed on both sides and fingerprint sensor placed in the same position as the Galaxy S8. The device retains 3.5mm headphone jack and comes with USB Type-C port for charging. On the front, it features Samsung’s Infinity display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone also carries the Note series traditional S stylus pen. The Note 8 comes with IP68-rating for water and dust resistance. Connectivity options on the phone include 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and NFC. Sensors on board the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, digital compass, gyroscope, heart rate sensor, iris sensor, and proximity sensor. The phone offers three biometric unlocking features – fingerprint scanner, facial recognition, and an iris scanner.

Samsung has confirmed that it will roll out the Bixby voice assistant capabilities to the Galaxy Note 8 and the Galaxy S8 series in the coming weeks
