Samsung has quietly introduced its latest budget smartphone under the J series, the Samsung Galaxy J2 2017 Edition in India. The smartphone packs in similar specifications like its previous iteration except for the new handset has got a better interface. The handset is listed on the company’s official India website, however, the price has not yet been mentioned indicating that it will hit the shelves soon. There is a “Where to Buy” option as well but it is currently disabled.
Coming to the specifications, the new Galaxy J2 (2017) features a 4.7-inch display with qHD Super AMOLED display with 540×960 resolution. It is powered by a quad-core Exynos processor clocked at 1.3GHz and paired with 1GB of RAM. The smartphone gets 8GB native storage of which only 4.3GB is accessible. It supports expandable storage up to 128GB using microSD card. As for the optics, the Galaxy J2(2017) sports a 5MP autofocus rear camera with a flash module. At the front, it has a 2MP camera for selfies. The Android-based smartphone supports dual-SIM and USB OTG (on-the-go).
The Samsung Galaxy J2(2017) is being claimed to carry Smart Manager for automatic memory management which will help users delete duplicate images on the smartphone automatically and even delete saved APK files. The device also comes with Ultra Data Saving mode that can save data up to 50 percent. It packs a 2000mAh battery which is removable.
Connectivity options on the phone include- 4G, GPRS/EDGE, 3G, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, GLONASS and 3.5mm jack for audio. The phone measures 136.5x69x8.4mm and weigh 130 grams. While the price of the new Galaxy J2(2017) has not been listed yet on the official website, reports, however, claim that the handset might come for a price of Rs. 7,390. The smartphone will be available in two colour options- Metallic Gold and Absolute Black.
