Reliance LYF today launched a new 4G VoLTE enabled smartphone named as LYF C459 for Rs. 4,699. Just three days ago, Reliance Jio unveiled the Jio Phone at their Annual General Meeting. The LYF C459 can be found under the LYF Wind series of smartphones on the official website. It will be available in two colour options – Black and Blue and is currently available at all Reliance Digital stores for purchase. This is the first phone that Reliance has launched after unveiling the Jio Phone in the AGM.
The LYF C459 sports a 4.5-inch FWVGA display along with 2D Asahi Glass Protection. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 SoC clocked at 1.3GHz along with Adreno 304 GPU. It comes 1GB of RAM and 8GB of Internal Storage expandable via a microSD card slot. It will run on Google’s 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system. All of this is backed by a 2,000mAh Lithium-ion battery.
As for the camera, the phone comes with a 5-megapixel autofocus camera on the back and a 2-megapixel selfie shooter. The camera also features Auto Frame Rate, Red Eye Reduction, Continuous Auto Focus, Blink Detection, Smile Detection, Gaze detection, Panorama. The LYF C459 offers dual SIM connectivity, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, calling over Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, Micro USB 2.0. It also features a Gyroscope, Ambient Light Sensor, Accelerometer, Proximity Sensor. The phone also offers motion gestures like Flip to Mute, Double Tap to Wake, etc.
Mr. Mukesh Ambani during the AGM said that the entry price into the smartphone market starts from Rs. 3,000. This prompted the company to work on the Jio Phone, a smart feature phone with a significantly lower entry point. The Jio Phone was launched at the AGM which only requires a refundable security deposit of Rs. 1500.
