Reliance Jio has been long rumoured to be coming up with a Fiber broadband service for homes. This Fiber service is allegedly being named JioFiber and it is being said that it will revolutionalize the broadband internet service space just like Jio did with the cellular network provider space. Recently, a Reddit user spotted a JioFiber preview plan on Reliance Jio’s website. The plan offered 100GB of data at 100 Mbps speed every month for three months. As per the plan in the cached website page we accessed mentioned that the users will be paying nothing for the plan and would be required to instead pay a refundable security deposit of Rs. 4,500.
Jio’s website also mentioned that after the users utilise the 100GB FUP their speeds would drop to 1 Mbps until the next billing cycle. The website page had further mentioned that the preview offer will first be available in the following cities: Ahmedabad, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Surat, Vadodara, and Vishakhapatnam.
The company executives will come to your home and install a custom router whose cost will be included in the security deposit that the users will be needed to give.
Reliance Jio has currently removed the preview plan from its website. However, a cached preview of the website still exists and can be used to view and verify the plan. This could mean that Reliance Jio might be making a few changes in the plans before a mass rollout which is now imminent.
