In case you’ve been on the fence about going ahead with Reliance Jio services, here’s something that might give you reason to push your decision. Mobikwik has announced that Reliance Jio customers will be able to recharge their Jio numbers using Mobikwik’s website and App. It should be noted that you can do the same using Paytm.
Ever since the service launched in September last year, Reliance Jio has been offering their entire suite of services for free to customers. This has caused massive disruption across the entire telecom sector, with network providers contesting the legality of free offerings. Moving ahead, Reliance will switch to a paid model, where you can either opt to be a prepaid or a postpaid member. However before that, you have the choice to become a Jio Prime customer by paying Rs. 99 up front before the month of March ends. All of Reliance Jio’s plans are bifurcated into Jio Prime and non-Jio Prime. You can read all about the benefits you’d get in Jio Prime membership vs. non Jio Prime membership here.
MobiKwik said that people will be able to sign up for Jio Prime and recharge for any of the subsequent plans using its platform. Daman Soni, Vice President of Growth at MobiKwik said, “We are happy to extend our digital payment services to Reliance Jio users. The association will allow Reliance Jio users across India to have access to all plans and deals for recharges and pay for their mobile recharges via MobiKwik within seconds.”
Before you do jump the gun and pay for your Prime membership, we recommend you educate yourself about a few unpleasant surprises the service may have in store for you.
