When the last few times Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani took the stage, the telecom sector experienced major disruption. This time addressing the meet on Tuesday Mr. Ambani has announced a new ‘Jio Prime’ offer.
With the expiration date of Reliance Jio’s ‘Happy New Year’ offer coming closer, the company has another ‘Jio Prime’ offer for initial customers, but this time it’s not entirely free. The new plan seems to be a good strategy to retain it’s user base and here’s what you should know about ‘Jio Prime’.
What is Jio Prime offer? Who is it for?
‘Jio Prime’ offer membership is meant for initial 100 million Reliance Jio customers. These users can enroll on this plan for a small one-time fee of Rs. 99 and Rs. 303 per month to avail another year of its free 4G services (FUP attached). This also includes the access to all Jio apps membership worth Rs. 10,000 for free till March 31, 2018.
How to enroll for ‘Jio Prime’ offer? When does the registration start?
The registrations for Jio Prime membership will start from March 1 and ends on March 31st. Users can enroll through MyJio app or via Jio’s website using login. The company will also provide same facility in Jio’s offline stores.
What do you get after ‘Jio Prime’ subscription?
After subscribing to Jio Prime, users will get another 12 months of free 4G data and as Jio has it already announced that there will be no calling charges ever on the Jio platform.
So essentially, users need to pay Rs. 99 initally and Rs. 303 every month to enjoy free calls and free internet till March 31, 2018. This will be an extension of the ‘Happy New Year’ offer, which means you’ll only get 1GB of 4G data per day, after that the speed will be dropped to 2G speeds.
What happens if you don’t subscribe to ‘Jio Prime’?
Jio customers not opting for Jio Prime will be able to recharge or use postpaid service plans from Jio that were announced in September 2016.
