Recently, we have been seeing companies like SHARP and Xiaomi launch smartphones with bezel-less displays. Panasonic today has joined the race and launched a new bezel-less display smartphone with a dual camera setup, the Eluga C. Interestingly, the new Panasonic Eluga C looks extremely similar to the Xiaomi Mi Mix, as it has hardly any bezels on three sides. It has been launched in Taiwan at the price of TWD 6,000 (Approximately Rs 12,900). It is currently available for pre-order.

As for the specifications, the Panasonic Eluga C sports a 5.5-inch 450-nits HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. One interesting fact about the display is, it doesn’t have an 18:9 aspect ratio despite there being no bezels. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6750T processor clocked at 1.5GHz. It features 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of internal storage expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. All of this is backed by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery with support for fast charging. The company is providing a 7.5W fast charger in the box.

As for optics, the Panasonic Eluga C sports a dual camera setup on the back with a 13-megapixel and a 5-megapixel camera sensor, both of which have a f/2.2 aperture. On the front, it features an 8-megapixel shooter with a f/2.2 aperture for selfies. We also get to see the fingerprint sensor on the front which the company claims can unlock the device within 0.3 seconds and is able to store up to 5 fingerprints simultaneously.

Can you guess which is which?

The India launch date and pricing are not known yet but given it’s price tag in Taiwan, it would be an interesting addition to the fast crowding bezel-less phone segment.
