Panasonic today launched a new budget smartphone dubbed Panasonic P99 in India. Panasonic P99 comes at the price of Rs 7,490 and flaunts multiple colour options: Champagne Gold, Black, Blue. The phone is available at all authorised Panasonic brand shops and retail outlets across India.


In terms of specs, Panasonic P99 features a 5-inch (12.7 cm) HD IPS display with 1,280 x 720 pixels, resulting in 294 PPI pixel density. Up front, there’s also a 5-megapixel secondary camera for selfies and video calls modes like beauty, Burst shot, HDR, and Watermark. Inside, there’s a 1.25GHz octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage (up to 128GB).

The dual-SIM phone weighs 145g and measures 8.6mm. As for photography, Panasonic P99 houses an 8-megapixel rear camera alongside modes and features like modes like Beauty, Burst shot, Night, Professional, Watermark, HDR, Panorama. On the software front, it runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. It packs a 2,000mAh battery and offers a different set of connectivity options like 4G, LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.

Commenting on the launch, Panasonic India’s Pankaj Rana, had this to say:

“We are happy to announce an addition to our P-Series smartphone range, the stylish P99 with improved display and various front and back camera modes for our consumers. The new device is equipped with an upgraded version of Android 7.0 Nougat so that you can multitask and are connected to the world. This new launch will expand consumers’ choice of mobile phones in this price segment.”
