Panasonic, the Japanese electronics company seems to be expanding its smartphone portfolio in India. The company has reportedly sent invites for an event where it is said to launch two new smartphones under Eluga series- Eluga Ray 500 and Eluga Ray 700.
Both the smartphones has been listed on the e-retail Flipkart revealing the complete specification sheet and even the price ahead of its official launch. As seen on the listing, the Eluga Ray 500 is priced at Rs. 8,999 and it features dual rear cameras. The smartphone sports a 5-inch HD display and is powered by a 1.25GHz MediaTek MT6737 processor paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The phone offers a 13MP+5MP dual camera setup on the back with LED flash module and a 5MP front facing camera for selfies. It packs a 4000mAh battery.
The Panasonic Eluga Ray 700 meanwhile is listed on the e-commerce site for a price of Rs. 9,999. The listing on Flipkart also suggest that the handset will be up for sale from Septemeber 21. Currently, the Eluga Ray 700 is listed as ‘Coming Soon’ on the website.
As far as the specifications go, the Panasonic Eluga Ray 700 features a 5.5-inch full HD (1080×1920 pixels) IPS On Cell display. The highlight of the smartphone is its massive 5000mAh battery. It is powered by an octa-core 1.3GHz MediaTek MTK6753 SoC paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB native storage. The storage is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.
Unlike the dual rear cameras on the Eluga Ray 500, it carries a single 13-megapixel camera setup at the back with LED flash. At front, it features a 13-megapixel camera with flash for better selfies in low light.
The Panasonic Eluga Ray 700 offers 4G VoLTE support, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and 3.5mm headphone jack under its connectivity suite. Sensors on board include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, compass.
Both the handsets run Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box and has fingerprint sensor embedded on the back panel.
