Panasonic earlier this year promised that it will bring 15 smartphones for its Indian consumers all of which will fall under Rs. 15,000 price bracket. Up until this month, the Japanese tech company has brought about twelve smartphones in the country that comes under this price category with the recent one being the Eluga A4. Panasonic adding its latest affordable smartphone in the Eluga series today launched the Panasonic Eluga I5.
The successor to the Eluga I4 is announced for a price of Rs. 8,990. The Eluga I5 runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box and feature a 13MP rear camera. The phone boasts a metal body with the circle-shaped fingerprint sensor nested on the back panel.
The Eluga I5 features a 5-inch HD (720×1280 resolution) 2.5D arc glass display with Asahi Dragon Trail glass for added protection against scratches. It is powered by a 64-bit quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor coupled with Mali-T720 for graphics. As for the camera, the Eluga I5 comes with a 13MP primary camera with LED flash module and 5-megapixel camera up front for selfies and video calls.
The hybrid-dual SIM Eluga smartphone supports 4G VoLTE and packs a 2500mAh battery. The phone measures a dimension of 143x71x7.5mm and weighs 145 grams. The new Eluga smartphone is already available for purchase exclusively on Flipkart. Interestingly, the e-retail site has listed a discount offer of Rs. 2491 and the new Panasonic handset is currently retailing for a price of Rs. 6,999 on the website. The Eluga I5 will come in two colour options- Black and Gold.
