OnePlus has released OxygenOS 4.1.7 update for its OnePlus 3 and 3T smartphones which brings a handful of bug fixes and optimisation. The update also includes Android security patch for the month of August and improvements to system fluidity.
Notably, the latest update will wipe off the Hangouts app on the OnePlus 3 and 3T devices. OnePlus in its official forum has said that the update shall remove the Hangouts app if users have never updated it on the Google Play Store. The removal is done as per Google’s request and for those who wish to keep the app, the company has advised updating Hangouts before upgrading to the latest OxygenOS software version. A few critical issues have also been addressed, one amongst which is the touch latency issue that was reported by several OnePlus 3 and 3T users last year.
In addition, the latest update is said to fix sound channel error while recording videos, rendering issue in Indian Kannada language or for a bug that would route a call to speaker accidentally by some third-party apps.

Bug fixes:
The OxygenOS 4.1.7 is pushed via OTA update which means that it will reach to a limited number of users at first and eventually a broader roll out shall begin in the next few days. Evidently OnePlus earlier confirmed that both OnePlus 3 and 3T units will receive Google’s latest Android O update that officially got its sweet name- Android 8.0 Oreo just yesterday. However, the company’s Head of Product did mention that Android O update will be the last major Android version for both these handsets.
