OnePlus has started rolling out Oxygen OS 3.2.8 update for its premium flagship smartphone OnePlus 3. The new update has added some new features for the OnePlus 3 users. It brings a full HD 60FPS video recording and has optimisation of Snapchat, with fixes for video calling and scrolling lags. The update has also added emergency calling feature for the Indian users in compliance with the orders from the Government of India. The OnePlus users by pressing the power button three times will be able to trigger an emergency call.
The update promises to improve the performance and increase the system stability. It also brings general bug fixes.
The company however says that the OTA update will be incremental. OnePlus in a forum post claims, “The OTA will reach a small percentage of users today, and we’ll begin in a broader roll out in a few days.
With the OnePlus 3T making its way in the Android market, OnePlus is making it sure that the incremental OTA updates keep its pace along with the OnePlus 3 users. The company has recently rolled out Oxygen OS 3.5.5 Beta 7 via OTA for the OnePlus 3 handset which included new audio tuner, bug fixes, revamp of the accent color & the clock UI , background app freezing mechanism to amplify the battery life and updated Google security patch for October.
Although this new software builds are rolling out for the OnePlus 3 smartphones, the users will still have to wait until December to get the latest Android Nougat on their phone. As the company’s CEO, Carl Pei during the launch of OnePlus 3T said,” OnePlus 3 users, rest assured we consider the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T to be two version of the same phone, so software updates will follow the same schedule. Android Nougat will come to both phone later this year”.
