Oppo on Thursday announced its new full-screen smartphones, the Oppo R11s and Oppo R11s Plus at an event in China. The highlight of these handsets is its dual camera setup and Full View AMOLED display.
The R11s has an 85.8 percent screen-to-body-ratio meanwhile, the Plus variant comes with 85.95 percent screen-to-body ratio. Both the smartphones are powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 mobile platform paired with Andreno 512 GPU for graphics. The devices ships with Android 7.1.1 Nougat with ColorOS 3.2 layered on top.
The dual camera array on the Oppo R11s and R11s Plus houses a 16-megapixel main sensor and a 20-megapixel secondary sensor with f/1.7 aperture. The dual rear camera has LED flash support. Up front, the devices feature a 20MP camera with AI Beauty Recognition technology. The AI technology collects 254 feature points for shooting best selfies. The recognition process on the phones takes 0.8 seconds to unlock it.
Talking about the display, the R11s sports a 6.01-inch Full HD+ (1080×2160 pixel resolution) AMOLED display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The R11s Plus, on the other hand, features a slightly larger 6.43-inch full HD+ 18:9 AMOLED screen.
As for the storage, the Oppo R11s packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage which is expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB). The R11s Plus carries 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage and supports expandable storage up to 256GB with microSD card. The R11s has a battery backup of 3205mAh, while the R11s Plus comes with a big 4000mAh battery. Both the smartphone support VOOC fast charging and have a fingerprint sensor embedded on the rear panel.
Connectivity options on these devices include- 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C port, GPS+, and GLONASS.
As far as pricing is concerned, the Oppo R11s is priced at CNY 2,999 (around Rs. 30,000). It will be available in two colour option- Black and Champagne Gold. The company has also brought a special Red edition for a price tag of CNY 3,199 (roughly Rs. 31,300). The Oppo R11s Plus is priced at CNY 3,699 (roughly Rs. 36,190) and it will come in two colours- Black and Champagne Gold. The base version will be available for purchase from November 10 while the Plus variant will go on sale starting November 24 in China.
