Oppo has recently teased its new smartphone Oppo R11 and now the company that it will unveil the smartphone in China next week. The company took to the popular Chinese social media site Weibo to announce the launch event. As per the poster shared on Weibo, Oppo will launch the R11 and its bigger variant R11 Plus on June 10 at an event at the Shenzhen Universiade Sports Centre.
Earlier this week, the Oppo R11 received certification from Chinese telecommunication authority TENAA. According to the leaked specifications listed on TENAA website, the smartphone will feature a 5.5-inch full HD (1080×1920 resolution) AMOLED display. The device is said to offer 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage which will be further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. Moreover, the Oppo R11 will feature a 20-megapixel and a 16-megapixel sensor at the back panel, as per the listing. The device will pack a 2900mAh battery and run Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
The bigger variant, Oppo R11 Plus meanwhile, is said to feature a large 6-inch full HD (1080×1920 resolution) display. The device will pack 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage which will be further expandable via microSD card. It will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat and carry a 3880mAh battery. As for the optics, the device is said to sport a similar dual camera setup like the Oppo R11. Both the smartphones will come with fingerprint sensor located on the Home button.
The Oppo R11 and the R11 Plus will be powered by Qualcomm’s new system-on-chip (SoC) Snapdragon 660 which is designed to offer enhanced performance, faster connectivity. Further the 14nm mobile platform integrates 4K video and playback, optical zoom and several other camera features. The Oppo R11 is said to come in Gold, Black and Silver colour options while the Oppo R11 Plus will offer Black, Gold and Rose gold colour variants. The event will commence at 8:30pm CST (6pm IST).
