Oppo’s latest selfie-focus smartphone, the Oppo F5 has finally arrived in India. The full-screen Oppo smartphone is priced starting at Rs. 19,990 and will be available exclusively on e-commerce site Flipkart and will also be available brick & mortar stores as well.
The Oppo F5 flaunts minimal bezels and elongated 6-inch full HD+ (1080×2160 pixel resolution) display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone has 84.2 percent screen-to-body ratio. The front panel of the smartphone Corning Gorilla Glass 5 to protect it from screen cracks. The latest Oppo smartphone house a 20-megapixel camera with 1/2.8″ sensor and f/2.0 aperture. It offers bokeh effect and comes equipped with AI technology. The new AI software on the phone can scan 200 facial recognition spots to beautify a selfie.
Oppo claimed that “With more than 200 positioning spots, the F5 accentuates your facial landmarks and contours to enhance the symmetry between features like your eyes, nose, cheekbones and jawline to create the perfectly refined and natural selfie. Its beauty-iris tool ensures that your eyes will shine brighter in any photo“. The front-facing camera, however, doesn’t have a LED flash support which is a bit of a let down given that the smartphone is emphasised to be a ‘Selfie expert’. At the back, it has a 16-megapixel camera with f/1.8 aperture and LED flash module.
On the hardware front, the Oppo F5 is powered by an octa-core 2.5GHz MediaTek Helio P23 16nm processor paired with Mali-G71 MP2 GPU for graphics. The near bezel-less Oppo smartphone is launched in India in two RAM/storage version- 4GB RAM/32GB onboard storage and 6GB RAM/64GB native storage. The phone has a dedicated microSD slot and offers expandable storage of up to 256GB. The Oppo F5 ships with Android 7.1 Nougat based on company’s ColorOS 3.2 skin.
It features an all-metal design with antenna lines running along the top and bottom curvature. The fingerprint sensor has now been placed on the rear panel at the centre. The power button is located on the right side while the volume keys sit at left edge.
The phone packs a 3200mAh battery and supports dual-SIM. Connectivity options on the phone include- 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS+, GLONASS and 3.5mm audio jack. The Oppo F5 offers three colour choices- Gold, Black and Red.
As far as availability is concerned, the Oppo F5 4GB RAM version will be available for pre-booking starting today and it will continue till November 8. It will be available for purchase from November 9. The 6GB RAM will go on sale from December. The Oppo F5 4GB RAM version comes for a price of Rs. 19,990 meanwhile, the 6GB RAM model will cost Rs. 24,990.
Update: The Oppo F5 first sale starts today via the e-commerce platform, Flipkart. The company has listed up to Rs. 18,500 off in exchange for old smartphones. No cost EMI starts from Rs. 1,666 per month while other EMIs starts at Rs. 970 a month.
