The Chinese smartphone maker Oppo has started teasing the launch of its upcoming smartphone, the Oppo F5. The company has confirmed about the phone launch in a post on its official Philippines Facebook handle. The launch teaser comes with a big F5 and a smartphone outline that seemingly shows bezel-less edges. The teaser also carries a tag line, “Capture the real you” with the launch date mentioned below it.
The tag line gives a pretty clear indication that the upcoming Oppo F5 could be yet another selfie-centric smartphone from the company.
The device has surfaced in several leaks over the past two weeks, including launch posters in the Philippines with the same tagline. The posters revealed the smartphone’s rear panel in black and red colour variant showing off single camera setup and a circular fingerprint sensor.
While FullView display have set a popular trend in the smartphone arena this year, Oppo might soon get onboard with the upcoming handset. A few days ago, a video was shared online that revealed the supposed Oppo F5 from varied angles. The video showed the smartphone featuring a tall display with almost no bezels on the both edges. No home button could be seen up front. The top and bottom bezels are thin too with a slight cut out for the dual front-facing camera. At the back, the rear camera could be seen located at the top left corner with a flash module alongside.
As for the specifications, the Oppo F5 is expected to sport a 6-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone is tipped to offer a 20-megapixel primary camera and 16-megapixel dual sensor at the front. It might be powered by Qualcomm’s latest mobile platform Snapdragon 660 processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. Reports suggest that the phone might pack a big 4000mAh battery and boasts a metallic body with minimal bezels.
