Oppo launched a slew of smartphones this year including the Oppo F5 that arrived in India last month at a price of Rs 19,990. The Chinese OEM has now unveiled three new smartphones under its A series.
Oppo has announced the Oppo A75 and Oppo A75s in Taiwan. The highlight of the these new A series handsets are their 18:9 displays. Both the smartphones share similar facets except for the amount the storage. The devices boast a 6-inch full HD+ (2160×1080 pixel resolution) with 18:9 aspect ratio. Powering the devices is a 2.5GHz MediaTek HelioP23 64-bit octa-core processor paired with Mali-G71 MP2 GPU and 4GB of RAM.
In terms of internal storage, the Oppo A75 comes with 32GB onboard storage, while the Oppo A75s offers 64GB native storage. The expandable storage support on both the devices is up to 256GB (via microSD card). As for photography, the smartphones accommodate a 16MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture and LED flash module. Up front, they have a 20MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture.
There is a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor as well and like the Oppo F5, the phones integrate AI facial recognition. On the software front, the smartphones ship with ColorOS 3.2 based Android 7.1 Nougat. Both pack a 3200mAh battery. Available in Black and Gold colour option, the 4G enabled Oppo A75 and the A75s have been announced for a price of NTD 10990 (roughly Rs 23500) and NTD 11990 (around Rs 25600) respectively.
Separately, Oppo has launched another A-series smartphone, the Oppo A83 on its home turf. Like the Oppo A75 series, it shares the 18:9 aspect ratio for the display except that the screen size is slightly smaller and has lower resolution. The Oppo A83 features a 5.7-inch HD+ (1440 x 720 resolution) glass display with 2.5D curved glass. It is powered by the same MediaTek HelioP23 octa-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz, paired with 4GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage (expandable up to 128GB with microSD card).
The dual-SIM Oppo A83 packs a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies. It runs ColorOS 3.2 based Android 7.1 Nougat. The 4G enabled Oppo handset is backed up by a 3180mAh battery. The Oppo A83 is available in two colours- Champagne Gold and Black. Priced at 1399 Yuan (approximately Rs 13630) the phone is already up for order in China and will be released on December 29.
Availability information about all three phones in India is not yet disclosed.
