  3. OnePlus rolls out update for OnePlus 3T and 3 fixes BlueBorne vulnerability

OnePlus till date has assured that its smartphones for a specific amount of time keep receiving updates to keep them secure. A few weeks ago the company rolled out the OxygenOS Open Beta 14 for the OnePlus 3T and OxygenOS Open Beta 23 for the OnePlus 3. Now the company has announced OxygenOS Open Beta24 and Open Beta 15 for the OnePlus 3 and the 3T respectively. The previous Open Beta’s had brought various new features and UX improvements, however, these new open beta’s only bring minor changes. Below is the Changelog of the update.

Added “Soft” screen calibration
We’ve reverted the screen calibration and added the new calibration from last build as “soft.” You can enable the new calibration in the “display> screen” calibration section of settings
New boot animation
Optimized the clearing of recent apps
Fixed BlueBorne vulnerability with a patch

Updated Community app to V1.9.5
Minor bug fixes

As seen in the changelog above, the company has brought “Soft” screen calibration mode, new boot animation, optimization to recent apps clearing, an update to Community app, and some minor bug fixes.

Interestingly, The company says that it has fixed the BlueBorne Vulnerability which was recently discovered. The BlueBorne vulnerability allows hackers to gain unauthorized access to unpatched Android, iOS, Windows, and Linux devices with the help of Bluetooth. In this, the attacker doesn’t even have to pair with the device to gain access to it making this extremely dangerous.

The company has stated that this is an individual patch and has to yet be fixed by Google in Android. They also stated that some BlueBorne vulnerability scanners might not be able to detect the patch as it is an independent patch.
