Chinese handset maker OnePlus today announced the partnership with Croma retail chain. As part of the partnership, OnePlus will start selling all its products across key cities in India. Both OnePlus and Croma together will establish experience zones to compete with the likes of Xiaomi Mi Home offline stores. All these experience zones will have live demo phones on display. Additionally, in-store staff will address customers’ product related queries.
The company’s flagship OnePlus 5 (Review) is currently available offline in 10 Croma stores across India starting September 19. However, OnePlus has promised to expand its reach with the help of over hundreds of other Croma stores in a phased manner. The launch offers include lucky draw, free OnePlus 5 flip covers to those purchasing the handset. OnePlus 5 buyers will get a pair of free Bullet V2 earphones. OnePlus also partnered Amazon Prime, Kindle, and Cleartrip for other launch offers.
“As a global technology brand, our constant endeavour is to offer premium products and unique experiences to our users. We are excited to partner with Croma for offline expansion in our biggest and the most important market. The offline presence will further complement our ‘online first’ approach, strengthens customer trust and drive the next phase of our growth in India,” said Vikas Agarwal, General Manager at OnePlus India.
“OnePlus has been a great success in the market, but we believe there is a lot more potential if only people could touch, feel and experience this exciting product. Croma is happy to be the chosen Experience Partner for OnePlus as it strives for further growth in the challenging Indian market,” said Avijit Mitra, CEO at Croma.
