OnePlus has finally started rolling out Android Nougat based OxygenOS 4.0 update for the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T units. The company as promised has announced the stable beta updates before the end of 2016. Carl Pei, co-founder of the company announced about the beta update on Twitter stating, “Android N stable OTA for the OP3 and the OP3T. Gradual rollout begin later tonight.”
With over 10 beta updates rolling out for the OnePlus 3 units, the latest Android Nougat 7.0 beta build from the company has brought the first stable version of Android adding some features from the OxygenOS 3.5 on the OnePlus 3T.
The changelog in the update brings new settings menu that features a slide-out navigation area which allows the user to toggle between the settings panes. The quick settings menu highlights new blue accent colors. The built-in display available in the Nougat update brings five different scaling levels. The user can adjust the scaling to ‘small’, ‘default’ (medium), large level by selecting Settings>Display>Display size.
The OxygenOS 4.0 also adds revamp for the OnePlus 3T featuring a new home screen setup, a standard widget replacing the Google search bar, an alternate layout for the standard app-drawer etc.
As the co-founder in his tweet mentioned the update to be ‘a gradual one’, the OTA update will be available for all the OnePlus 3 & 3T users in the upcoming days. However, promising those phones to get the update before the new year countdown, Pei in his follow-up post said,” Many members of our R&D are not taking anytime off to celebrate New Year. But we finally feel proud to deliver on our promises. Thanks for all the support in 2016. I promise we’ll come back stronger in 2017, see you next year.”
