OnePlus recently confirmed its next flagship will come under the moniker ‘OnePlus 5T’ and will retain the 3.5mm jack for headphone. While the smartphone is expected to be unveiled later this month, the Chinese handset maker has dropped another hint of where the possible launch could take place.
OnePlus in its official Twitter handle posted a tweet along with an image saying, “Guess which city we’re going to party in for the #OnePlus5T launch!“. The image shows a hazy OnePlus moto ‘Never Settle’ in the foreground. The tech publication PhoneArena points out that photo was shot in Manhattan, New York city indicating that OnePlus 5T official debut might happen in the US.

OnePlus didn’t share any other detail about when the upcoming flagship will officially make its appearance. Several reports suggest that the OnePlus 5T could have a close resemblance to Oppo’s newly launched smartphone, the Oppo R11s. If reports are to be believed, then the new OnePlus flagship will flaunt minimal bezel display. The phone is tipped to feature a 6-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with 18:9 aspect ratio.
Apparently, the OnePlus 5T was also spotted on benchmarking site, GFXBench last week. The listing showed a device with the model number A5010 sporting a 6-inch display with 1080×2160 resolution. The smartphone is seen running Android 7.1.1 Nougat instead Google’s latest Android Oreo OS. As for the optics, the listing shows only one rear sensor having 16-megapixel. However, if we go by the numerous renders and leaked images that have surfaced over the past few weeks, the smartphone might have dual rear camera array like the OnePlus 5. At the front, the sensor now seen courting 20-megapixel instead of 16-megapixel on the OnePlus 5, which (if true) will be a considerable upgrade.
The listing doesn’t reveal any detail regarding the battery. CEO Pete Lau (via Weibo) earlier hinted that the flagship will have Dash Charging support. Previous reports have indicated that the OnePlus 5T will be fueled by Snapdragon 835 SoC and will pack 6GB RAM/64GB onboard storage and 8GB RAM/128GB storage. The upcoming flagship is expected to be announced on November 16.
