OnePlus recently confirmed that it will release an update for its latest flagship, the OnePlus 5T to improve the dual camera’s low light performance. The update is also said to enhance the quality of selfies and make them more natural.

And while the Chinese handset maker had promised to push an update soon to improve the imaging sensors, it seems the first software update has just hit the new OnePlus smartphone. The Oxygen OS update, first spotted by Android Police, is said to address a few issues on the OnePlus 5T.

As seen in the screenshot shared by the tech publication, the Oxygen OS 4.7.2 based on Android Nougat includes a few fixes. Weighing a file size of 107MB, the update brings the following improvement-

  • Optimisations for fingerprint unlock
  • Optimisations for face unlock
  • Improved accuracy of gestures for screen
  • Improved EIS during 4K video recording
  • Wi-Fi WPA2 security patch (Krack vulnerability patch)
  • General stability improvements and bug fixes

Probably, the company will release another update to improve the camera performance, as those points do not find a mention in the release notes of the current update. For those who have the OnePlus 5T, they can check for the update by tapping on the Settings menu>System updates>Check for updates. OnePlus recently rolled out Android Oreo open beta update for its previous flagship smartphones, OnePlus 5 and 3T.

OnePlus 5T will be made available for purchase for all in India next week on November 28. The leading e-commerce platform, Amazon India and OnePlus hosted early access sale for users on November 21. The OnePlus 5T is priced in India starting at Rs. 32,999 for the 6GB RAM/64GB storage version and Rs. 37,999 for the 8GB RAM/128GB storage version.
