OnePlus today took the wraps off OnePlus 5T Lava Red edition in India following Star Wars limited edition from last month. Registrations for OnePlus 5T Lava Red variant begin starting today on Amazon. The actual sale starts January 20, 2018 at 12:00 IST.
Techook had reported last week that the device was expected to debut in India before 23rd January as opposed to the rumoured date (26th Jan) that was floating around, which is pretty close to January 20 when it officially goes on sale in the country.
To recall, OnePlus 5T Lava Red variant was initially launched in China late November last year for a price of 3,499 yuan for 8GB RAM model. Similarly in India, it features 8GB RAM and 128GB storage and costs Rs 37,999. The 6GB RAM/64GB storage variant may arrive on a later date. The original OnePlus 5T was launched for a price of Rs 32,999 (6GB RAM/64GB storage) and Rs 37,999 (8GB RAM/128GB storage).
OnePlus 5T Lava Red edition houses a 16 and 20 MP dual camera setup with f/1.7 aperture. It sports a 6-inch Full Optic AMOLED screen with an 18:9 aspect ratio. On the software front, there are a lot of noteworthy additions like Face Unlock, which allows users to unlock their phone just by looking at their device. Powering OnePlus 5T Lava Red variant is Qualcomm’s top-of-the-line Snapdragon 835 platform.
Commenting on the launch, OnePlus India’s General Manager, Vikas Agarwal, had this to say: “We are happy to kickstart 2018 with the much requested OnePlus 5T Lava Red edition, our first ever red smartphone, that will certainly appeal to those looking for the perfect balance of beautiful design and powerful features.”
