Highlights

    • OnePlus 5 will have a great camera
    • Will sport Qualcomm Snapdragon 835
    • May sport 8GB RAM

Another image of the upcoming OnePlus 5 has leaked on the internet and this time, it is courtesy Weibo, China’s own version of Twitter. The image shows the upcoming flagship as sporting dual cameras, but this time, in a horizontal configuration. Just a few days ago, a OnePlus prototype was leaked which showed off the smartphone’s dual camera in a vertical configuration. There is an almost rapid fervour around OnePlus’s next smartphone, with a number of leaks coming out in the last few week, many of which seem to contradict one another.

A closer look at the photo reveals that the camera module looks eerily similar to the one found on the Apple iPhone 7 Plus. While this leaked photo looks more like a render, possibly from marketing material, the previous leak of a prototype with vertical cameras was the photo of an actual product taken in the real world. While we may continue to wonder whether OnePlus 5 will actually have a dual camera or not and what configuration it will come in, what we do know is that the camera is a major focus for OnePlus, given that they just announced a partnership with DxO.

What we do know about the upcoming OnePlus flagship killer is that it will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and run Android 7.1.1 right out of the box, thanks to a Geekbench listing that surfaced a few weeks ago. Other rumoured specifications point to the phone potentially coming with 6GB or 8GB RAM, with possibly a 256GB storage variant in addition to the 64GB and 128GB versions. There are also rumours of a bigger 3600mAh battery accompanied by an improved Dash Charge 2.0. The company is expected to announce the OnePlus 5 in the coming weeks, so we recommend just waiting till such a time where the company can just put all the rumours to rest.
