OnePlus is leaving no stone unturned to create more hype for the upcoming flagship, OnePlus 5. The company has already teased possible colour options for the device and confirmed that it will have the latest Snapdragon 835 SoC (system-on-chip).
Now a fresh teaser coming all the way from OnePlus CEO have indicated the design details of the new flagship model. Pete Lau in a post on the Chinese microblogging site, Weibo, has suggested that OnePlus 5 will be the thinnest flagship smartphone. Pete, however, didn’t clearly say whether the new OnePlus 5 will be slimmer than other flagships in the smartphone market or the thinner among OnePlus flagship models. However, he has indicated that the OnePlus 5 will be thinner than 7.35mm, which means it will be slimmer than the current flagship OnePlus 3T. Pete Lau said that OnePlus didn’t have to make any compromises to build a thinner smartphone and that he is already using the new device.
“Remember that OnePlus 3 release, a lot of media to get the first sentence of the phone is “wow Oh, very thin, feel good.” OnePlus 5 I believe it is the thinnest flagship phone, and did not sacrifice other use experience. This is the daily pondering, and constantly adjust the value of the output after 0.05mm.,” Pete says in his post (as per Google translation).
Separately, a leaked poster on Weibo revealed the imminent launch of the upcoming OnePlus flagship. The leaked poster suggest that the OnePlus 5 will be unveiled on June 15. The poster highlights the date June 15 and reports that the phone will be launched at 3pm China Time. However, the leaked poster on Weibo rather looks like an image which can be easily edited so it recommended to take this information with a grain of salt.
According to previous reports, OnePlus 5 is expected to feature a dual rear camera setup. The phone is said to feature a 5.5-inch QHD display (1140×2560 resolution) display and come with massive 8GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage.
