OnePlus is more likely to go with number 5 for the next ‘Flagship Killer’ because Chinese consider 4 to be unlucky. Rumours around OnePlus 5 have been doing rounds over the web from quite some time and latest to the leak chain is a listing on Chinese Regulation site.
The alleged OnePlus 5 carrying model number A5000 was spotted listed on China’s Radio Regulation Authority by AndroidPure. Although that doesn’t suggest that it is the new Flagship Killer, but given the previous model numbers of OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T carrying A3000 and A3010, it seems that this can be OnePlus 5.
There were some reports in past that suggested OnePlus is looking for dual-curved edge display for the next flagship but then not all rumours can be trusted. What is known so far is that the alleged OnePlus 5 might feature a 5.5-inch 2K (1080×2048 pixels) display. According to Chinese site PCPop, the phone might carry a huge 8GB of RAM with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 processor and Adreno 540 GPU.
The same report also tipped OnePlus 5 to sport hardware navigation keys, and slim bezels compared to its predecessor. Also, this time around the company is likely to move position of the fingerprint sensor to the rear panel of the smartphone.
Apart from processing option leaks, the alleged OnePlus 5 is said to a rear 23-megapixel camera with OIS, while a 16-megapixel selfie camera. We are yet to see some reports from trusted sources to be able to guess what exactly OnePlus has in mind for the next 2017 flagship smartphone, but for now we all will have to take these speculations with a grain of salt.
