Although the new OnePlus 5 is set to go on sale officially on June 27, the company is holding an ‘early sale’ both online and at pop-up events that opened in various cities around the globe.
While the assertion is likely based on pre-orders, there is no way to be sure whether these numbers will match the number of units the company sells in the first few days of release. But seeing the response of OnePlus fans, one can assume that the latest flagship from the company might be the continue the dominance in the mid-range segment like its predecessor.
The OnePlus 5 packs the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 under the hood which is coupled with Adreno 540 GPU. It features a 5.5 inch Full HD AMOLED display with 401ppi. It comes in two variants, one with 6 GB of RAM and 64GB of storage (Slate Gray) and another with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage (Midnight Black). The highlight of the handset is its dual camera setup at the back which includes a 16 megapixel Sony sensor and a 20-megapixel telephoto lens. The OnePlus 5 runs OxygenOS based Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. The price of the phone starts at $479 (roughly Rs. 31,000) and will be made available on June 27, 2017.
