Ever since chinese handset brand OnePlus unveiled this year’s flagship OnePlus 5 (Review), the phone has received a couple of updates so far. However, in other news, the company’s previous flagship smartphones from 2016, the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T, have now received some updates as well. The OxygenOS Open Beta 19 has been rolled out on the OnePlus 3. The OnePlus 3T, meanwhile, has received the OxygenOS Beta 10. What’s interesting about these updates are the fact that they bring the new OnePlus Launcher 2.1 on both the devices.
In case you are wondering, these updates undoubtedly bring some new functionalities and enhancements that you might want to consider. These updates bring support for dynamic icons as far as original calendar and weather apps are concerned. What’s more, they also bring support for grid layout, so that there won’t be any changes even after change in the display size.
In addition to these changes, the OxygenOS Beta, which is pushed over the air, also brings a new option that shows the battery status of the devices that are connected over Bluetooth. It also brings a new OnePlus widget, which cannot function on Shelf. The update will also make it possible for OnePlus 3 and 3T to recognize email address mentioned within text message.
Users can also adjust the size of the clock widget, which wasn’t possible earlier. Continuing on the clock, the update has also brought an updated UI style for the widget. As far as other software level optimizations are concerned, Smart Callback feature appears to have improved. Additionally, users will notice significant difference in terms of incoming call animations.
However, only those OnePlus 3 or 3T smartphones having OxygenOS Open Beta build installed will be eligible for this update.
