ZTE sub-brand Nubia has launched its latest smartphone Nubia Z17 at an event in Beijing. The highlights of the smartphone are its dual rear cameras, Snapdragon 835 processor and a massive 8GB of RAM.

The new smartphone from Nubia’s smartphone labs is also the first to support Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ which is said recharge the phone’s battery up to 50 per cent in 20 minutes.

Speaking about the specifications, the new Nubia Z17 features a 5.5-inch full HD (1080×1920 resolution) IPS LCD display. It is powered by the next-generation Snapdragon 835 processor paired with Adreno 540 GPU. The phone runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Nubia 5.0 UI skin on top. The device packs a whopping 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage and comes with UFS2.1 flash memory.

In terms of design, the Nubia Z17 sports bezel-less ‘screen technology’. It boasts a sleek metal unibody design and comes with water resistance. The fingerprint sensor is located in the middle at the back panel.  The volume rockers and power button are placed on the right side of the device.

The Nubia Z17 is equipped with a 3200mAh battery and features NeoPower 3.0 power saving system. The power saving system on the phone will essentially provide battery life of up to 2.4 days on one single charge.

Coming to the optics, the dual rear camera on the smartphone comprises of one 23-megapixel and one 13-megapixel sensor that supports 2x optical zoom, 10x dynamic zoom, f/1.8 aperture, LED flash. The camera on the phone has 1/2.55-inch CMOS sensor and comes with 0,03s ultra-fast focusing speed and NeoVision 7.0 image search engine. The Nubia Z17 also supports remote synchronisation with Wi-Fi, 3D photos and macro shots. On the front, it sports a 16-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

The phone offers- Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, GLONASS, NFC, Infrared port and USB Type-C port under its connectivity option.

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has launched three variants of the new Nubia Z17- 6GB RAM/64GB storage which is priced at CNY 2,799 (around Rs. 26,400). A 6GB RAM/128GB storage model which has been priced at CNY 3,399 (around Rs. 32,100) and the premium 8GB RAM/128GB storage variant priced at CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs. 37,700). The Nubia Z17 will be available in five colour options- Aurora Black, Black Gold, Obsidian Black, Solar Gold and Flame Red.
