With Nokia coming back into the smartphone game, the rumor mill has presented us with a new leak, sharing some specs of the upcoming Nokia flagship dubbed Nokia P1. The new Android based phone is expected to make its debut at MWC, 2017. Even though the device was rumored to be named as Nokia 8 Supreme, new details from Russia said that HMD Global’s next smartphone will be called Nokia P1.
Worket in its report suggested that the Nokia P1 will be a premium smartphone and will feature Sharp Aquos Xx3 design. In terms of specifications, the device is expected to sport a 5.3-inch Full HD IGZO display with a refresh rate of 1 to 120GHz. The phone will be coated with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 or 5 protection, as per the report.
The leak specs also reveal that the new smartphone will feature the latest Snapdragon chipset 835. The phone will host Carl Zeiss optics at rear panel with a 24-megapixel camera. In the battery segment, the phone will have a 3,500mAh battery with Qualcomm new Quick Charge 4 fast charging technology. The Nokia P1 is expected to include Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor with IP55/IP57 certification for water and dust resistance. The phone might run on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
The device will have a massive 6GB of RAM with either 128GB or 256GB internal storage alongside. In terms of price, Nokia P1 will fall under the price vicinity of popular flagship smartphones like the iPhone 7 Plus or the Google Pixel XL. As per the leak report the phone will cost around $800 for the 128GB model, while the 256GB variant will come for a price of $950.
HMD Global, the manufacturing partner and distributor of Nokia phones have sent out invites for its press event on February 26 at MWC 2017. The company is expected to unveil the Nokia P1 Android-based smartphone at the event. HMD has already released the first-Nokia branded smartphone Nokia 6 which is exclusively available in the Chinese market as of now. With over 250,000 registrations acquired for the first flash sale, the flash sale has gathered upwards of 1 million registrants so far. The Nokia 6 will be up for sale on January 19, however any timeline on the release of the Nokia Flagship will only be made official at MWC, if at all.
