Nokia’s upcoming smartphone, Nokia 9 has been the subject of several leaks over the last few days. The supposed flagship from Nokia had earlier been spotted in renders and a leaked promotional video as well.
Now specifications (via GsmArena) of the alleged Nokia 9 has appeared on the popular mobile benchmarking platform, Geekbench. The Geekbench listing has registered benchmark scores for a device labelled as ‘Unknown Heart’. The leaked screenshot reveals the device packing a massive 8GB of RAM and an octa-core Qualcomm processor. The Geekbench listing also noted the processor ID as ‘ARM implementer 81 architecture 8 variant 10 part 2048 revision 1’ which could possibly be the latest Snapdragon 835 chipset. The device is seen running Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Other details reveal single core and multi-core test which interestingly appears to be lower than those listed on previous Nokia 9 Geekbench test. The earlier ‘Geekbench 3’ listing showed the device with the name ‘HMD Global TA-1004’ sporting a Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB of RAM and Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The device in the test outperformed other flagship smartphones with an impressive multi-core score of 6278 and a single-core score of 1815.
The new listing, however, shows the device scoring 615 in single-core test and 1116 in multi-core tests. That is much lesser than the Geekbench results that appeared earlier. Reports assume that the difference in scores could occur because of testing the Snapdragon 835 platform at different clocked speeds.
Notably, just a few days ago a leaked set of images surfaced online showing a prototype model of the alleged Nokia 9. The leaked live images obtained by frandroid.com showed the device enclosed in a case likely to prevent the curious eyes from getting a fair glimpse of the phone’s design.
However, the leaked live images did reveal the device sporting dual rear camera setup and 3.5mm audio jack. Further, leaked images of the alleged Nokia 9 indicated that the smartphone will sport a 5.3-inch QHD (1440×2560 resolution) display, Snapdragon 835 SoC (system-on-chip), Android 7.1.1 Nougat and 4GB of RAM.
