    • Nokia 9 to launch in Q3
    • Carl Zeiss optics with 22 megapixel sensor
    • Snapdragon 835 and 6GB RAM rumoured

Nokia’s come had been the talk of the town for over a year. At Mobile World Congresss 2017, they announced four new phones, all for the global market, but what was clearly missing was a flagship contender. We’re now hearing rumours that Nokia’s flagship, the Nokia 9, might debut in the third quarter of this year and would sport a rather lucrative price tag in India.
The report comes via Nokia Power User which states that the Nokia 9 will launch for Rs. 44,999 in India, $650 in the US and EUR749 for the European markets. There’s no reason given for the discrepancy in the price, but given this is a leak, we’d take any of this information with a pinch of salt.
What we do know is that the Nokia flagship would come with the Snapdragon 835 processor. There’s also supposed to be 6GB of RAM along with 64GB (or 128GB) of on-board storage. The phone is said to have a 5.5 inch quad-HD OLED display powered by a 3800mAh battery. Nokia will allegedly once again flex its super imaging muscles thanks to Carl Zeiss optics paired with 22 megapixel sensor. There is talks that there will be a dual lens setup, but we don’t know if it will be two individual camera assemblies, or will Nokia utilize two lenses on one sensor for a light-field like effect. The leak on Nokia Power User also states that the Nokia 9 will sport an Iris scanner, much like that on the Samsung S8 along with Nokia OZO Audio Enhancements, though we’re not sure what the latter might actually entail.
Nokia just got done announcing the a slew of phones that are yet to hit the market, but given the weight behind the brand name, its entirely possible that Nokia is already preparing its next set of devices for launch later this year. As much as we like getting caught up in what the rumour mill has to offer, lets just wait and watch what Nokia finally announces.
