HMD Global, the parent company for Nokia is preparing to launch the first Android-powered Nokia flagship this month on August 16. While leaked renders and reports have already given a fair idea of what to expect from the supposed Nokia 8, the smartphone has now surfaced on the benchmarking site, GFXBench.
The listing reveals the specifications of Nokia 9 (which could likely be named as Nokia 8) with model numbers TA-1004, TA-1012, TA-1052. Based on the listing, the phone will feature a 5.3-inch QHD (1440×2560 resolution) display. It will be powered by Qualcomm’s high-end Snapdragon 835 SoC (system-on-chip) paired with Adreno 540 GPU, 4GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage. The supposed Nokia 8 will boast the trending flagship feature and will offer dual camera setup with two 12-megapixel sensors. The device could be seen running Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS.
Apparently, the new Nokia flagship also landed on another benchmarking site, AnTuTu early in June. The AnTuTu listing concurs almost every aspect revealed on the GFXBench except for the rear sensors. As per the listing on AnTuTu, the handset will feature two 13-megapixel sensors instead of 12-megapixel dual rear camera that is being revealed on GFXBench data.
Reports earlier had indicated that HMD Global might take the wraps off its upcoming flagship in London on August 16. Recently, a copper gold variant of the supposed Nokia 8 was leaked on the Chinese social media site, Baidu. Besides the gold version, a Blue variant of the device was showcased by credible gadget leakster Evan Blass. The popular leaker noted that Nokia’s upcoming Android flagship phone would feature dual rear cameras with Carl Zeiss lens. AS for the pricing, the phone is tipped to carry a price of Euros 589 (roughly Rs. 44195).
