While HMD Global, the parent company for Nokia brought a trio of Android powered Nokia smartphones late in February this year, users still await for a flagship to be shelled out from their smartphone inventory soon. Rumours have long been spilling beans that the company is working on its flagship device dubbed as the Nokia 8 and a new leak now seems to levitate interest of Nokia fans.
The popular leakster Evan Blass has posted a teaser image of the supposed flagship Nokia 8 showing a dual camera arrangement with Carl Zeiss optics. Given that the Finnish company had recently collaborated with Zeiss to improve imaging experience on Nokia smartphones, the Nokia 8 could perhaps be the first one to emerge from this partnership. The image also reveals the front and rear design of the device giving quite a fair glimpse of how the phone would look like. As one can notice, the dual cameras are stacked vertically with a dual-tone LED flash alongside. The Nokia 8 appears to have a similar design cue like the Nokia 5, 6 with the fingerprint sensor placed in the same position.

Apart from the teaser image, a report from Winfuture.de has outed launch date details of the smartphone. As per the report, the Nokia 8 is said to launch on July 31. The phone is expected to feature a 5.3-inch display (2560×1440 resolution) display. It will be powered by Qualcomm’s high-end SoC (system-on-chip) Snapdragon 835 paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. While Blass revealed the blue variant of the Nokia 8, the phone is tipped to debut in three other distinct colour schemes as well- steel, gold/copper and gold/blue. Rumours have it that the smartphone will ship with a pure version of Android 7.1.1 Nougat. It will offer a pair of rear lenses with 13-megapixel resolutions each and Carl Zeiss optics. Besides a Scandinavian retailer (via Winfuture.de) listed that the Nokia 8 with model number TA-1004 will be priced for €589 (roughly Rs. 43,500).
