HMD Global has started rolling out a software update that brings several improvements and fixes for its mid-range Nokia branded smartphone, the Nokia 6. The update which includes the August security patch has been pushed for users in India.
The update carries a fix for Wi-Fi compatibility issue that recently popped up on some Nokia 6 units. Along with this bug fix, the update also brings overall stability improvements and addition of a new feature called Screen Capture that will let users take screenshot by just tapping the icon on the notification panel instead of pressing the volume and power button.
The update carries a file size of 162.3 MB update and Nokia 6 users can check the update (if haven’t received push notification) on the Settings Menu then tap on About Phone> System Update and select Check for update.
To recap the Nokia-branded mid-range Nokia 6 was globally unveiled late in February at MWC alongside the Nokia 3, 5 and the revamped Nokia 3310. The smartphone made its way to India in June and went on sale in India last month. Notably, the handset saw over a million registrations on the e-commerce site and have gained striking response from Indian users. The Nokia 6 sports 5.5-inch Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 resolution) display featuring Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The handset is powered by a Snapdragon 430 octa-core SoC coupled with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 506 GPU for graphics. It has 32GB of inbuilt storage expandable up to 128GB via microSD card and 3,000mAh battery. In terms of photography, it offers a 16-megapixel rear shooter and an 8-megapixel front facing camera. The phone is priced at Rs. 14,999 and is available in three colour options- Matte Black, Silver and Tempered Blue
