Nokia has reportedly started pushing out the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for Nokia 6 smartphones.
According to GSMArena, the new Android update for Nokia 6 smartphones weighs around 370MB. It brings latest Android OS version 7.1.1 along with the monthly security patch for the month of April. Not just this, the changelog for the Android 7.1.1 notes some other changes as well. The update (as per log) enhances power saving and background management, brings support 4G/3G dual-SIM dual standby, updates version of preload application and Nokia USB driver.
Nokia 6 Android smartphone was released at the end of CES this year. The Finnish company officially confirmed that it will launch the Nokia 6 along with Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and the Nokia 3310 globally in the second quarter of 2017. Up until now, the Nokia 6 has been a China-exclusive smartphone.
The phone originally came with Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. It features a 5.5-inch full-HD display with 2.5D Glass protection. The Nokia 6 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
The Nokia 6 boasts of a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0, phase detection auto focus and dual-tone LED flash. It packs an 8-megapixel f/2.0 front camera for selfies. The dual-SIM Nokia 6 is backed by a 3000mAh non-removable battery. The phone is priced at 1699 CNY in China, which translates to roughly Rs. 17,000 for India. There’s no exact information on the India release as of now, but we expect it launch in coming months.
