HMD Global, a company responsible for manufacturing Nokia-branded Android smartphones, is on the verge to announce the Nokia 5 in India. The Finnish company will ship the smartphone in India’s offline market starting August 15. If you recall, the Nokia 5 went on pre-order last month. The offline-exclusive phone will be available to purchase via Nokia dealers across India.
Design-wise, the Nokia 5 is boasts of a glossy aluminum unibody with gentle curves across the edges. The phone is available in various colour options like Tempered Blue, Silver, Matte Black and Copper. It measures 8.5mm including camera bump on the rear. Up front is a front-mounted fingerprint scanner for unlocking the device. Furthermore, it supports NFC for secure payments.
Specs-wise, the phone sports a 5.2-inch 720p HD IPS screen, featuring Corning Gorilla Glass protection and 282 ppi pixel density. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 430 octa-core SoC coupled with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 505 GPU for graphics. The Nokia 5 is a dual-SIM phone that offers 16GB of expandable storage and runs latest Android Nougat. It packs a 3,000mAh battery and houses a 13-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel selfie camera.

The Nokia 5 will be available in different colour options like Tempered Blue, Silver, Matte Black and Copper for Rs 12,899. If you recall, it was announced alongside the Nokia 3 and Nokia 6, priced at Rs 9,499 and Rs 14,999 respectively. The Nokia 3 went on sale last month while Nokia 6 is up for pre-booking since July 14.
Given that Nokia 3 has received a pretty impressive response from all markets, the Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 is expected to get a similar response.
