The yet-to-be-announced Nokia 2 is believed to be one of the cheapest offerings from HMD Global’s smartphone inventory this year. While reports have speculated the handset to be unveiled early next year it seems we won’t have to wait that long for the launch.
The rumoured affordable smartphone has surfaced on the AnTuTu benchmark. The AnTuTu listing reveals a few key aspects of the phone including the processor, display, ROM and software. The AnTuTu list revealing the Nokia device with the model number TA-1035 was first spotted by a website specsnigeria.com. Apparently, this was the same model number that appeared in Bluetooth SIG certification last week.
As per the listing, the Nokia 2 will feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor paired with Adreno 304 for graphics. It will come with 1GB of RAM paired with 8GB expandable storage. The smartphone will sport an HD 720p resolution display. As far as the optics go, the Nokia 2 is seen sporting a 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera on the AnTuTu list. The phone will ship with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box.
The battery and screen size of the Nokia smartphone has not been revealed on the listing, however, previous reports have suggested that the Nokia 2 might pack a big 4000mAh battery and sport a 5-inch 720p display. We have been given a glimpse of how the phone might look, thanks to notable gadget leakster Evan Blass who shared renders of the Nokia 2 last month. The design of the phone appears somewhat similar to the Nokia 3. The supposed Nokia was seen featuring smooth curved edges with the power button and volume keys forked on the right side. The images also indicated that the smartphone will come in two colour schemes- Black and White. As for the pricing, the Nokia 2 is tipped to cost somewhere around $99 (approx Rs. 6,500).
The Finnish company is all set to take the wraps off a new smartphone in India next week. HMD Global has scheduled a launch event in Gurugram on October 31 where it is expected to unveil the entry-level Nokia 2. The company is also widely speculated to launch the Nokia 7 which was recently announced in China.
