Huawei sub-brand Honor just introduced a new colour variant of Honor 9. The phone in question has now arrived in a new midnight black colour variant. The new model is set to go on sale in China starting July 18. If you recall, Honor 9 was first unveiled in China last month. Apart fromt midnight black, the device also comes in Amber Gold, Sea Blue, and Seagull Gray colour options.
Honor 9 resembles a lot to Honor 8 (Review) as far as the design is concerned. The phone in question boasts of a similar glass and metal sandwich body, blending a dual rear camera setup. There has been a change in terms of the placement of the fingerprint scanner. Honor 9 features a front-mounted fingerprint scanner which doubles as the home button, unlike Honor 8.
Specification wise, Honor 9 sports a 5.15-inch screen featuring 1920×1080 pixels resolution and 428ppi pixel density. Inside, there is Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 960 octa-core SoC coupled with Mali-G71 GPU for graphics. Honor 9 comes in multiple memory combinations: 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage and 6GB of RAM with either 64GB or 128GB of storage. The storage supports further expansion up to 256GB via microSD card.

Honor 9 houses dual rear cameras consisting of a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor and 12-megapixel RGB sensor. The camera supports phase detection autofocus (PDAF), 2x optical zoom, and dual-tone LED flash. Up front is an 8-megapixel secondary shooter for selfies and video calling. The dual-SIM phone runs Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with EMUI 5.1 software on top.
As far as connectivity is concerned, the smartphone is backed by 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and USB Type-C. The phone is retailing at the starting price of 2299 yuan (approximately Rs 21,850).
