After BSNL, the state-owned telco service provider MTNL is next to counter Reliance Jio’s lucrative data offer. MTNL has introduced a plan that offers 2GB of 3G data per day and unlimited calls within its network for Rs. 319. The offer will be available for the MTNL consumers from Saturday, April 1.

The plan is valid for 28 days and the customers will have to recharge again after the validity period gets over in order to avail the benefits.
“On its 31st anniversary, MTNL announces new plan from April 1, 2017 that offers 2 GB of 3G data per day and unlimited calling within MTNL network for Rs 319 for Delhi and Mumbai mobile customers,” MTNL said in a statement. “This promotional offer is valid for 90 days. MTNL customers will also get 25 minutes of free call to other networks everyday and after that they will be charged 25 paise for a minute phone call,” the company added.

The data offers from several telecom operators undoubtedly comes in right after Mukesh Ambani led Reliance Jio brought a special low-tarrif scheme Jio Prime that offer 1GB of 4G data per day and unlimited call for Rs. 303 a month.

A few weeks ago, govt-owned telecom firm BSNL launched a plan that offer 2 GB of 3G data per day and unlimited calling under its Combo special tariff voucher (STV) of Rs. 399. The BSNL prepaid users also get 25 minutes of free calling to other network everyday. Besides, the telco recently offered 1GB of data free to users who have a smartphone, but were not using mobile internet.
