Motorola is all geared up to launch the Moto G5 smartphone in India today. The Lenovo-owned company is holding a press event in New Delhi where it will announce the the new smartphone from the ‘G’ series. Motorola will be live stream the launch event at 12:15pm IST.

We already know the specification of the Moto G5, but what remains to be seen is the pricing that the company would tag on this new handset. To remind, the Moto G5 along with its Plus variant Moto G5 Plus were first introduced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona in February. Moto India released the Plus variant in the country in mid-March at starting price of Rs. 14,999.

The Moto G5 Plus (Review) which is Flipkart exclusive, the younger sibling, Moto G5, however, will be available exclusively on Amazon india from April 5, 12am IST.

The Moto G5 features a 5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 resolution) display. The device is powered by a 1.4GHz Snapdragon 430 processor, paired with 2GB or 3GB RAM and 16GB or 32GB of onboard storage. The storage can be expanded further via a microSD card slot (up to 128GB). The Moto G5 follows similar design language like its Plus variant featuring a metal build. The handset has fingerprint sensor located underneath the homebutton. The phone also comes integrated with Google Assistant. The Moto G5 sports a protruded camera module on the rear panel.

The Moto G5 packs a 2800mAh removable battery with support for fast charging. On the optics front, the Moto G5 sports a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, and dual-LED flash. On the front it sports a 5-megapixel wide-angle camera for selfies and video calling.

The dual-SIM Moto G5 runs Android 7.0 Nougat and house a slew of Motorola-exclusive features such as Moto Display, Actions, twist gesture, One button Nav mode.
