Motorola’s new smartphone, Moto Z2 Play is now available for purchase via the e-retail site, Flipkart. The second-generation Moto Z smartphone that comes with Moto Mods support was launched in India with a price tag of Rs. 27,999. Besides being exclusive to Flipkart, the smartphone will also be available for purchase via offline stores starting today.

Flipkart has bundled a few offers with the new Moto Z2 Play. The company has listed “no-cost EMI” that starts from Rs. 3,111 per month. It is also giving a 5 percent instant discount for Axis Bank Buzz credit card holders. A buyback offer has also been listed on the website, but consumers will have to pay an extra Rs. 599 to avail this offer. Flipkart will give a buyback guarantee of Rs. 11,000 to users on exchange of Moto Z2 Play from the e-retail site within six to eight months. If users exchange the phone within nine to 12 months they will get a guaranteed buyback value of Rs. 8,500.

Purchasers will also be able to avail an extra discount of Rs. 2000 on exchange and up to 55 percent off on select Mods purchase. Consumers who purchase the Moto Z2 Play along with Hassleblad True Zoom Camera and the JBL SoundBoost speaker mods can get up to 57 percent discounts on the Mods. In addition, Lenovo has also announced a 100GB of Reliance Jio 4G data on the new phone for Jio users.

To refresh, the Moto Z2 Play was officially introduced in the US early in June. The Lenovo-owned company announced four new Moto Mods alongside the smartphone launch. The smartphone made its way to India on June 8.  Talking about its specifications, the Moto Z2 Play features a 5.5-inch full HD Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a 2.2GHz Snapdragon 626 processor paired with 4GB RAM/64GB internal storage. The storage can be further expanded up to 2T using microSD card. The phone runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat and comes with 4G LTE support.

The battery on the new Moto Z2 Play is downgraded presumably because of its thin design. The smartphone packs a 3000mAh battery from 3510mAh battery seen on the Moto Z Play. Motorola says that the phone will offer up to 30 hours of battery life between charges. Interestingly, the Moto Z2 Play features new voice controls which are said to provide instant information without having to touch or even unlock the phone. Besides, it also has a Night Display feature that is meant to reduce blue light emission.

As for the optics, the Moto Z2 Play sports a 12-megapixel rear camera with a 1.4-micron pixel sensor, with f/1.7 aperture, dual-LED flash, and laser dual autofocus lens. On the front, it has a 5-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture, wide-angle lens and a dual-LED flash. Connectivity options on the phone include- Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C, 3.5mm audio jack, NFC, GPS/A-GS. Sensors on board include- accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer and proximity sensor.
