After numerous leaks, reports and anticipated launch dates, Motorola has finally taken the wraps off its new smartphone from the Moto X range, the Moto X4. The company launched the new upper mid-range handset at the IFA 2017 event held in Berlin. Reports have already given a good glimpse of the device featuring the dual camera setup and the official launch now reveals the compete specification sheet, price and a few add-ons to the new Moto smartphone.
The highlight of the Moto X4 is of course its dual rear camera that house a 12-megpaixel main camera and an 8-megapixel wide-angle secondary camera. Both the sensors capture colour images and offer shallow depth of field. The main camera on the rear panel feature dual-pixel autofocus, an f/2.0 lens, and 1.4-micron pixels. The 8-megapixel wide-angle camera meanwhile offers a 120-degree field of view and f/2.2 aperture. Up front, the phone carries a 16-megapixel sensor and includes an “adaptive low-light mode” meant to capture better images in low light condition.
Another notable implementation on the Moto X4 is the built-in, ‘hands-free support’ for Amazon Alexa assistant which will accessible even while the phone is locked just via a voice command. The Moto X4 is loaded with a few exciting features as well like Moto Key that will enable users access password-protected web pages on their PC or laptop just with a simple tap on the device. The handset also offers a new wireless audio streaming option that will let users to connect the phone to up to 4 wireless speakers instantaneously.
As far as the specifications are concerned, the Moto X4 sports a 5.2-inch full HD (1920×1080 resolution) full HD LTPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 630 14nm mobile platform clocked at 2.2GHz. It is available in the US and Europe in 3GB RAM and 32GB internal memory, meanwhile in other regions the phone is expected to pack 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. The Moto X4 runs Android 7.1 Nougat and comes with expandable memory of up to 2TB via microSD card. The handset has IP68 certification and boasts a metal and glass design with a 3D contoured back.
The new Moto X smartphone carries a battery capacity of 3,000mAh and Motorola claims the phone will offer up to 24 hours of usage between charges. It also includes a 15-watt TurboPower charger and it is said to provide up to six hours of use just within 15 minutes of charging.
As for the pricing and availability, the Moto X4 will be in available for a price of Euro 399 (roughly Rs. 30,375) and will start shipping in Europe starting in September followed by the US and other global markets later this fall.
