Motorola had launched its dual camera smartphone, the Moto X4, in two different versions – Moto X4 Android One edition and well, the standard edition. While the Android One edition recently received Android Oreo update, the other variant (that sells in India) had not. Moto X4 users in India might just get fortuitous, as the company has started rolling the Oreo update for the standard version of the Moto X4 as well.

A Twitter user with the name ‘QuickTech Mohit’ has posted a tweet along with the Oreo update screenshot on his Moto X4. The update with the build number OPW27.2 carries a file size of about 1.1GB. The update includes December Android Security patch along with stability improvements. The update also comes with the exciting Android Oreo features such as autofill, picture-in-picture mode, revived settings app and notification dots.

To recap, the Lenovo-owned brand brought the Moto X4 to India last month for a price starting at Rs 20,999. The phone features a 5.2-inch full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s new mobile platform, Snapdragon 630, clocked at 2.2GHz. It comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB onboard storage which can be further expanded up to 2TB using microSD card.

The Moto X4 Indian variant was launched with Android Nougat OS. The IP68 rated handset flaunts dual rear camera packing 12MP primary lens with f/2.0 aperture and 8MP wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture. At the front, it has a 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. The phone employs Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC paired with either 3GB RAM/32GB storage or 4GB RAM/64GB native storage. All of this is backed by a 3000mAh battery.
