In what could the biggest disappointment for those waiting for Moto X4 in India, Motorola today said the launch event which was scheduled for October 3 will be rescheduled to a later date. The company, however, did not reveal as to why it had to postpone the India launch. We tried to reach Moto regarding the same and will update our story as soon as we have anything to share.
Moto X4 first showed up at the recent IFA 2017 tradeshow in Berlin, Germany. As mentioned before, one of the biggest highlights of the device has its 12MP+8MP dual camera. In Europe, it comes pre-installed with Amazon Alexa digital assistant. Last week, the company announced Moto X4 Android One edition, which is exclusive to Google Project Fi wireless service in the U.S.
Moto X4 Android One edition lacks some features like Moto Voice, Moto Access, attentive display, one-button nav options, or Amazon Alexa voice assistant. However, it remains to be seen whether Moto X4 will launch as Android One edition in India as well.
Moto X4 Android One runs Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. However, Moto has promised Android 8.0 Oreo before the end of the year. It’s also believed to among the first phones to receive Android P software upgrade. Specs-wise, it sports a 5.2-inch Full HD screen, Snapdragon 630 SoC, 3,000mAh battery, and IP68 water and dust resistance. Last but not least, it houses a 16MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
