Although Moto has not revealed anything specifically with regards to India launch, we can expect Moto G5S and G5s Plus to hit the shelves in coming weeks.

After the series of leaks and rumours, Lenovo-owned Motorola has officially announced Moto G5S and G5S Plus. Both the smartphones will go on sale in the U.S. this fall. Additionally, Moto has said both the devices would start shipping to several countries globally starting this month. Although Moto has not revealed anything specifically with regards to India launch, we can expect Moto G5S and G5s Plus to hit the shelves in coming weeks. Announced with multiple colours and memory options, Moto G5S starts at 249 Euros (approximately Rs 18,900) whereas Moto G5S Plus starts at 299 Euros (approximately Rs 22,666).

Both Moto G5S and G5S Plus flaunt a metal unibody design, a front-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 3,000mAh battery with Turbo charging support. Extending more into the design, Moto G5S seems to be sturdy phone measuring 9.5mm in thickness and weighs 157g. Similarly, Moto G5S Plus measures 9.5mm and weighs 168g. Hence, these phones would not feel abnormally heavy, which is usually the case with big battery phones. Do remember July was a month of big battery phones and here’s the best of the lot. Furthermore, images reveal both the phones have retained the iconic G-series looks, boasting of an oval shaped fingerprint scanner on the front, a protruding camera unit alongside antenna lines on the back, and curvy edges.

Starting off with Moto G5S, it has a 5.2-inch (1080p) Full HD screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and 424 ppi pixel density. Inside is a Snapdragon 430 octa-core SoC coupled with 3GB of RAM Adreno 505 GPU for graphics. It offers 32GB of expandable storage, thanks to microSD support. The dual-SIM phone runs a near-stock UI on top of Android 7.1 Nougat. It houses a 16-megapixel primary rear shooter with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, and 1080p video recording. Up front, there is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with flash and f/2.0 aperture.

Moto G5S Plus, on the other hand, sports a 5.5-inch (1080p) Full HD screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and 401 ppi pixel density. Internally, there is a Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC coupled with Adreno 506 GPU for graphics. It offers two memory options: 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage and 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD). The dual-SIM Moto G5S runs a near-stock UI on top of Android 7.1 Nougat. It features a 13-megapixel + 13-megapixel dual rear camera with RGB and Monochrome sensors in addition to a dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, and 4K video recording. Up front, there is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with flash and f/2.0 aperture.

Both Moto G5S and G5S Plus feature water repellent nano coating and bottom-ported loudspeaker. The set of connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and microUSB port.
