The Lenovo-owned Motorola has announced its new smartphone the Moto G5 in India today. Launched at a price of Rs. 11,999 (3GB RAM model), the new handset from the Moto ‘G’ series will be available exclusive on Amazon India from Tuesday, April 4, 11:59pm onwards.
Interestingly, Amazon India is giving special launch offer of up to Rs. 1000 cash back for the Amazon Prime members on purchase of the smartphone via Amazon Pay Balance. Additionally, Motorola is offering a flat Rs. 1000 off for HDFC credit card holders. The company is also giving Rs. 500 off on exchange of an old phone, and free Sandisk Ultra 16GB microSD card as well.
Motorola had released the bigger variant, Moto G5 Plus in India earlier in March with a price tag of Rs. 14,999 for the 3GB RAM model. The Moto G5 Plus with its smaller version Moto G5 were officially introduced at Mobile World Congress back in February this year.

Talking about the specifications of the Moto G5, the smartphone features a 5-inch full-HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla glass 3. It is powered by an octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 clocked at 1.4GHz and paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. It also has microSD card slot which is expandable up to 128GB. It runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.
The Moto G5 bears a metal unibody design and gets a removable back panel. As for the camera, the Moto G5 sports a protruded module with a 13-megapixel sensor on the back panel along with aperture f/2.0, 1.1-micron pixels and PDAF, while on the front it has a 5-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calls. The handset is backed by a 2800mAh battery and comes with fast charging support. The dual-SIM Moto G5 house a number of Motorola-exclusive features as well such as Moto Display, Actions, twist gesture, One button Nav mode. The smartphone also comes pre-loaded with Kindle app and Amazon Prime.
The Moto G5 will be available in two colour variants- Lunar Grey and Fine Gold.
