Notably, the budget-oriented Moto C smartphone was officially introduced last month in Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific. The company launched two variants of the entry-level Moto C- 3G version with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage which is priced at €89 (roughly Rs. 6,300) and a 4G version with same RAM/onboard storage which comes for a cost €99 (around Rs. 7,000). In India, however, the company has brought a new variant that packs 1GB of RAM and 16GB onboard storage. The storage is further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card.

As for the specifications, the Moto C features a 5-inch FWVGA (480×854 resolution) display. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6737M Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 1.1GHz. The phone Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box and comes with multi-window support. The Moto C is equipped with a 2350mAh removable battery.

The Moto C features a polycarbonate body with micro-texture back cover. The speaker grills are located on the rear panel with 3.5mm audio jack sitting on the top edge and Micro-USB port alongside.  A circular camera module with flash and Moto Batwing sits at the back.

On the camera front, the Moto C sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash. The phone has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera with fixed focus and selfie flash. The dual-SIM Moto C supports 4G VoLTE. Connectivity options on the phone include- Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, FM Radio and GPS. The Moto C is available in two colour options- Pearl White and Starry Black.

Commenting on the launch, Sudhin Mathur, Managing Director, Motorola Mobility India and Country Head, Lenovo Mobile Biz Group, said, “According to the reports fewer people are expected to upgrade to smartphones because of concerns over price, need and ability to use. We see this as a huge opportunity for a brand like us to initiate the smartphone journey for feature phone users. At Motorola, we focus on mobility through device innovation, user-centric design and smart connectivity to offer the best possible smartphone experience to the consumers.”
