Europe has been one of the largest markets for smartphones running Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system, whereas the United States of America was one of the weakest markets for Windows Phone. Last year Alcatel had introduced the flagship Alcatel Idol 4 Pro in the US which was a rebranded Alcatel Idol 4S. Now the device has made it into the European markets and will go on sale on July 28.
The Alcatel Idol 4 Pro is a flagship and comes with the latest Windows 10 Mobile operating system. However, it comes with an obsolete chipset, due to it originally being a year old smartphone. As we mentioned earlier the phone will go on sale on July 28, and it available for pre-order in some of the European countries like Germany. The Alcatel Idol 4 Pro will be available to customers via the Microsoft store and will cost £419.99 or €479.99, depending on the country.
As for the specifications, the Alcatel Idol 4 Pro sports a 5.5-inch fullHD AMOLED display, runs on the Snapdragon 820 SoC along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of Internal Storage expandable via a microSD card. The phone comes with a 21-megapixel rear camera, and on the front, we get to see an 8-megapixel selfie camera. It sports a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual surround speakers with Hi-Fi sound, along with a 3,000mAh battery to power it all. All of this is smartly packaged into an aluminium body.
However, Alcatel will not be shipping the VR headset along with this handset in Europe.
